PURPOSE:
To appropriate District 7 reserves in the amount of $25,000 to the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County to assist with programming for DeKalb County at-risk youth.
NEED/IMPACT:
The $25,000 appropriation will be used to fund programming carried out by the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County for at-risk youth to address negative environmental, social, cognitive and racial stressors in their lives and reinforce positive behaviors and decision-making for personal success and positive self-efficacy. The programming will provide training, mentoring and leadership skills, as well as access to a strong support system and robust professional network that will foster positive youth development and educational achievement.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this allocation of $25,000 is from the District 7 Reserve for Appropriation.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
