PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 6-18 of the Code of eKalb County, as Revised 1988, where, for the appointment of members to Post 9 of the Airport Advisory Board, “the board of commissioners shall make the appointment by a majority vote with the concurrence of the chief executive officer,” Commissioner Robert Patrick nominates Mr. Will Childs for appointment to the Airport Advisory Board of DeKalb County in the position of Post 9. This is for a four (4) year term which will expire December 31, 2026.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Airport Advisory Board’s mission is to recommend and consult with the chief executive officer and the board of commissioners about the management, operations, and establishment of public policy for the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. Post 9 was previously held by Dan Zanger, and the term expired on December 31, 2020, but he continued to serve. This action will appoint Mr. Childs to an official four (4) year term that will expire on December 31, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
