PURPOSE:

To open a near-site employee health clinic on Wynn Way in Decatur. The clinic will provide affordable and convenient access for routine and preventative health care, serve as a health and wellness hub, provide pandemic resources including vaccinations, and provide triage for work-site illness and injuries. The clinic will be managed by Everside Health.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Employees need convenient access to high quality, affordable health care. Care delivered at the clinic will be available at either a significant reduction or at no cost for DeKalb County employees. By reducing financial barriers to care, the clinic will encourage compliance with preventative care, routine visits to monitor and manage chronic conditions, and provide early identification of potentially catastrophic conditions such as cancer, kidney disease, and cardiovascular conditions.  The clinic will provide free or discounted prescriptions for chronic conditions, resulting in improved medication compliance, better health outcomes, and better financial outcomes for DeKalb County.

 

The clinic will reduce the use of sick leave and improve employee productivity by minimizing the time away from work for health care services.  Other municipalities in the region offer employee health clinics which are viewed favorably by employees. The clinic represents a tool to attract and retain employees in a competitive hiring environment.

First Year Cost Estimate - $652,570

Approve contract award to Everside Health and authorize the CEO to execute the agreement.
