PURPOSE:
To provide funding in the amount of $1,008,096 from 2017 District 2 SPLOST Funding Category 1M - Commission District Discretionary Fund for the following projects:
Audubon to Beacon Hill (P/E and ROW estimate) - $108,096
Audubon to Beacon Hill Bridge (construction estimate) $450,000
Margaret Harris Park and Trail (ROW estimate) - $ 50,000
Margaret Harris Park and Trail (Prelim. construction) - $400,000
NEED/IMPACT:
These trail segments will extend the South Fork Peachtree Creek trail network in DeKalb to Briarcliff Road to the north through Margaret Harris School and connect Audubon to Beacon Hill.
FISCAL IMPACT:
SPLOST Funds: $1,008,096 from Category 1M from Commission District 2 Discretionary Fund
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To commit $1,008,096 of 2017 SPLOST Funds from 2017 SPLOST Funds from District 2 Category 1M - Commission District Discretionary Fund for planning, design, acquisition, construction of new pedestrian and bicycle connections extending the South Fork Peachtree Creek Trail north to Briarcliff through Margaret Harris School and connect Audubon to Beacon Hill.
The total available discretionary funds for D2, Category 1M, are $1,008,096.
