PURPOSE:
The $2 million will be used to invest in the facilities and programs to transform the South DeKalb Family YMCA and empower thousands of residents to build healthy mind, body, and spirit. The South DeKalb Y has been an essential part of the community, offering programs that impact children, teens, adults, and seniors. In ordinary times and during times of crisis, the Y aims to reflect the needs of the community to ensure all people can thrive. Embedded in communities, working together with partners, the Y seeks to deliver programs that meet community needs to ensure a deep, sustainable impact without duplication of services.
NEED/IMPACT:
The South DeKalb Y needs capital renovation and programmatic investment, the South Dekalb Family YMCA aims to narrow disparities across health, community, and economic prosperity and build a more equitable community in which every person has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
