PURPOSE:

To Amend Item 2020-0182, as previously adopted, authorizing the conveyance of 345.96 square feet of Lanier Gardens Park to the Georgia Department of Transportation to instead authorize the conveyance of the entirety of Lanier Gardens Park to the City of Avondale Estates via an intergovernmental agreement.

NEED/IMPACT:

Since Item 2020-0182 authorizing the transfer of a portion of Lanier Gardens Park to the Georgia Department of Transportation (“GDOT”) was approved on April 28, 2020, GDOT has removed acquisition and use of this right of way from the DeKalb County Project PI 0002669 and has added same to its Complete Streets Project in the City of Avondale Estates. The City of Avondale Estates has renewed its request to have the entirety of Lanier Gardens Park conveyed to the City to allow the City of Avondale Estates to comply with GDOT’s request to acquire right of way as a part of the Complete Streets Project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
