PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC on November 10, 2020, for an amount not to exceed $2,871,557.97. On February 23, 2021, the BOC approved Change Order No. 1 in an amount not to exceed $470,913.63 which authorized additional line items with the funding received from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA). On May 25, 2021, the BOC approved Change Order No. 2 for an amount not to exceed $61,250.00 for funding to remove additional trees to provide adequate undisturbed root zone, since the area of the clearing for creation and restorative grading needs to be increased and to extend the contract to February 28, 2023. This contract consists of the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Glen Emerald Lake Dam to correct major stability deficiencies which is currently classified as a Category I Dam due to the potential flooding should failure occur. This request for a contract term extension and transfer of funds for unforeseen conditions to include shift in the toe drain at the base of the dam due to rock encountered, amount of fill material needed increased substantially and a secondary drain needed due to a low area found during excavation.
