PURPOSE:
To purchase 2.46 acres of land located at 2734 Pleasant Wood Drive, Decatur, Georgia 30034 to construct a new fire station as identified in SPLOST Program Category 2A.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Fire Department has identified Fires Station No. 16 as a new fire station needed to improve service in the County and improve the ISO rating for this area of the County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
SPLOST Program Category 2A funding will be used to cover the purchase price and associated costs with a purchase price of $280,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Approve the purchase of the 2.46 acres of land located at 2734 Pleasant Wood Drive, Decatur, Georgia to construct a new fire station as identified in SPLOST Program Category 2A and upon the satisfactory/successful completion of due diligence, authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents, including a Purchase and Sale agreement in a form acceptable to the County Attorney.
