PURPOSE:
Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act where “The chief executive shall nominate a person,” CEO Thurmond is nominating Mr. Joel Gottlieb for reappointment to the DeKalb County Public Library Board of Trustees. His current term expires December 31, 2022. This term would run from January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2026.
NEED/IMPACT:
Mr. Gottlieb is a resident of Brookhaven. He retired from the DeKalb County Finance Department in 2013 after 17 years of service, having served the last three as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his work in DeKalb County, Mr. Gottlieb worked for twenty years for the City of Atlanta. Mr. Gottlieb’s financial and local government experience is valuable in rounding out the areas of expertise needed on the Board.
