PURPOSE:
Pursuant to subsection d of section 10A of the Organizational Act, where, “The auditor shall be appointed by a majority vote of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners,” the Board of Commissioners shall nominate a candidate for appointment as the Internal Auditor to the DeKalb County Office of the Independent Internal Audit. This is for a five (5) year term.
NEED/IMPACT:
The mission of the DeKalb County Office of the Independent Internal Audit is to provide independent, objective oversight over the administration and operation of DeKalb County government. Pursuant to section 10A, the Board of Commissioners shall nominate a candidate to fill the position it is empowered to nominate. This action would appoint the selected candidate to a five (5) year term.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
The Audit Committee referred two finalists, Mr. Lavois Campbell and Mr. Garland Blackwell to be interviewed by the Board of Commissioners for the position of the Chief Audit Executive.
