PURPOSE:

To appropriate American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act funding to fund premium pay for eligible workers; to fund employee vaccine incentives; and to fund eligible programs and expenditures for the Departments of Facilities Management and Innovation & Technology.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

This action appropriates other ARP Act funding for the following purposes:

                     Premium Pay for Essential Workers - $3,901,333 (as recommended by the Employee Relations and Public Safety Committee);

                     Employee Vaccine Incentives - $1,900,000 (as recommended by the Employee Relations and Public Safety Committee);

                     Hardware, software, licenses, and staffing for the Department of Innovation & Technology to support remote work - $2,527,000 (as recommended by the County Operations Committee); and

                     Enhanced cleaning for the Department of Facilities Management - $1,948,646 (as recommended by the County Operations Committee)

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This agenda item appropriates $10,276,979 from DeKalb’s ARP allocation to eligible programs and operating expenses.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve appropriation of American Rescue Plan funding to fund premium pay for eligible workers and to fund eligible programs and expenditures for the Departments of Facilities Management and Innovation & Technology. and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
