PURPOSE:
Rescind appropriation of up to $5,000,000.00 of American Rescue Plan Act ("ARP") funds to Nehemiah Project Community Development Corporation for a Plumbing Repair and Water Conservation Program ("DeKalb Cares"), approved as Agenda Item 2022-1370, and reappropriate those funds to the Community Development Department to manage DeKalb Cares.

NEED/IMPACT:
Rescind appropriation of up to $5,000,000.00 of American Rescue Plan Act ("ARP") funds to Nehemiah Project Community Development Corporation for a Plumbing Repair and Water Conservation Program ("DeKalb Cares") and reappropriate those funds to the Community Development Department to manage DeKalb Cares.

The purpose of DeKalb Cares is to assist low-income families and individuals who are experiencing hardships and having difficulty paying their water and sewer bills; and provide assistance to residents living in the Department of Watershed Management DeKalb County service area for plumbing and sewer repairs and provide assistance to customers with plumbing problems and with the installation of water conservation devices.

FISCAL IMPACT:
No additional fiscal impact.
