PURPOSE:
To establish a Memorandum of Understanding between DeKalb County, on behalf of DeKalb County Fire Rescue (DCFR), and the American Red Cross Georgia Region regarding fire prevention efforts in DeKalb County. The American Red Cross will provide smoke detectors that DCFR will install in DeKalb County residences as requested by residents. The MOU also establishes an annual smoke alarm community event for both organizations designed to proactively install smoke alarms in high-risk areas of DeKalb County.
NEED/IMPACT:
This partnership increases the fire prevention efforts of DCFR and the American Red Cross within DeKalb County and increases the safety of DeKalb County residents by reducing the risk of fire within the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost.
