PURPOSE:
To consider accepting grant award in the amount of $11,873 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to provide enhanced services to youth in the Rebound Drug Court program.

To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) awarded the DeKalb County Juvenile Court funding for the enhancement of services to youth enrolled in the Rebound Drug Treatment Court. The purpose of this program is to serve at-risk youth within DeKalb County who have admitted to substance use. Rebound serves male juvenile offenders between the ages of 14 and 17. The program includes intensive court and community supervision; individual and family treatment; prevention services; and educational support.

The grant award will fund treatment services, translation for Spanish speaking families, tutoring, and parenting classes.

The award requires a 12% cash match in the amount of $1,619. The grant period is July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. The amount awarded is $11,873.


FISCAL IMPACT:
The award will provide additional funds to Juvenile Courts overall grants budget.
