PURPOSE:
To consider entering into a project agreement with the PATH Foundation for $498,970 for design of segments 1, 2 and 3 of the South Fork Peachtree Creek Trail near North DeKalb Mall.
NEED/IMPACT:
On December 15, 2020, the Board of Commissioners approved entering into a master agreement with the PATH Foundation for the planning, design, and construction management of greenway trails in DeKalb County. The master agreement requires Board of Commissioners approval for all subsequent project agreements. On September 27, 2022, the Board of Commissioners adopted the study for the South Peachtree Creek Trail Southern Study Area. On August 23, 2022, the Board of Commissioners allocated $344,970 of District 2 Category 1M SPLOST funds and $154,000 of District 4 Category 1M SPLOST funds for funding the design of segments 1, 2 and 3 as identified in that study. The proposed project agreement with PATH will allow the development of construction plans for these segments to move forward and be completed.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Previously committed Category 1M funds in the amounts of $344,970 from District 2 and $154,000 from District 4 will be used to cover the cost of this project agreement.
