PURPOSE:

To consider accepting an additional $120,000 in fiscal year 2022 from the U.S. Justice and U.S. Treasury agencies for drug forfeiture; and to appropriate these funds into the Law Enforcement Confiscated Monies Fund; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The BOC Approved agenda item 2022-1026 on January 25, 2022 allowing the Department to accept up to $400,000 in drug forfeiture (equitable share) funds throughout the year from the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Treasury. Through November, $486,000 has been received. This agenda item allows the Department to increase that acceptance up to $520,000.00 for FY22.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This allows the Department to accept an additional up to $120,000 for year 2022 as provided by the U.S. Justice and U.S. Treasury Departments.
