PURPOSE:
To approve the appropriation of $150,000 from the American Rescue Plan grant funds assigned to the account reserved for District 7 to The Promise Homes Company to create a path to home ownership program, workshops and seminars to increase home ownership and financial dignity for residents in DeKalb County and to support the program through all ARP eligible uses to mitigate the public health emergency created by the pandemic.
NEED/IMPACT:
The impact of COVID-19 on many DeKalb County residents has created a housing shortfall and decrease in homeowners. The pandemic has transformed the housing market in DeKalb County, creating a need to provide safe, stable and affordable housing. The program will mitigate the negative impacts of COVID-19 by increasing home ownership and financial dignity for residents in DeKalb County and support the program through all ARP eligible uses to mitigate the public health emergency created by the pandemic.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To appropriate an amount not to exceed $150,000 from POETA Account # 105744.63258.521209.01.07.602479 to The Promise Homes Company to create a path to home ownership program, workshops and seminars to increase home ownership and financial dignity for residents in DeKalb County and support the program through all ARP eligible uses to mitigate the public health emergency created by the pandemic.

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
