PURPOSE:

Record the appointment of Tommy Travis as the District 6 representative on the Citizens Oversight Committee for SPLOST Revenues and Expenditures.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The District 6 representative on the Citizens Oversight Committee for SPLOST Revenues and Expenditures, Mr. Ward Silver, has resigned his position on such Committee.  Commissioner Terry thanks Mr. Silver for his service and requests that his appointment of Mr. Tommy Travis as the new District 6 representative to the Citizen Oversight Committee for SPLOST Revenues and Expenditures be recorded in the minutes. Mr. Travis will serve for the remainder Mr. Silver’s remaining original term, through December 31, 2024. Mr. Travis has served the County for many years both as an employee and as a representative on the District 3 Community Council. Mr. Travis is interested in serving on the Citizen Oversight Committee for SPLOST Revenues and Expenditures to better understand and be a part of determining the balance, affordability, growth, and environmental impacts to improving DeKalb County in whole. Mr. Travis has indicated his intent to serve in this capacity and Commissioner Terry is confident that he will serve as a wonderful advocate and member.

No cost to the County

Recommended Action

To record the appointment of Tommy Travis to the Citizens Oversight Committee for SPLOST Revenues and Expenditures to replace Ward Silver and to serve through December 31, 2024.
