PURPOSE:
To consider acceptance of the 2021 Fire Prevention and Safety Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security-Federal Emergency Agency in the amount of $93,123.80: and grant match funds of 5% in the amount of $4,656.20 for a total grant of $97,780.00
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program is to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters with respect to fire and fire-related hazards by assisting fire prevention programs and supporting firefighter health and safety research and development. This grant award will cover the purchase and installation of 4,689 smoke alarms. The performance period for the grant is March 27, 2023 to March 26, 2025
FISCAL IMPACT:
The grant requires a 5% grant match totaling $4,656.20
