PURPOSE:
To consider approval of the official retirement and sale of K-9 Kaiser to his handler for the sum of $1.00 each.
NEED/IMPACT:
K-9 Kaiser began his service to the County in 2011 and has served his first seven years with Officer W. Franklin and the last three with his handler MPO Edward Stanley. Kaiser has provided outstanding service to the department and to the citizens of DeKalb County and the Metro Atlanta region. Due to his exemplary work record, age, and current medical condition, he has reached a point in his career for retirement.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To transfer ownership of Kaiser at the cost of $1.00 to his handler.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
