PURPOSE:

To accept the technology subgrant award in the amount of $4,176 awarded by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to the County for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court, which is the county’s adult misdemeanor mental health court.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The technology grant funds will be used to continue to support the court’s mission in a collaborative effort with other entities and agencies in the decriminalization of persons living with serious mental illness engaged in the criminal justice system.  Through the efforts of the MMHC, these funds will be used to purchase equipment, to include laptops, tablets, and printers.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The county is not required to provide a match in funds for this award.

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents and to accept the technology subgrant award in the amount of $4,176 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court.
