PURPOSE:
This proposed resolution seeks to improve the communication and transparency on the part of the DeKalb County CEO and administrative staff by establishing procedures that require providing written response to any Board of Commissioners passed agenda items within 60 days of the passage of said item, detailing the timeline and work plan to accomplish the directives of said agenda items within a reasonable timeframe.

NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb County Government is dedicated and committed to serving the citizens of DeKalb County and addressing the operational needs required to do so. To effectively do this, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners regularly passes agenda items requiring action from the DeKalb County CEO and administrative staff, so it is important for the Board of Commissioners to receive timely updates on the progress and implementation of these agenda items.

There are many times that these decisions have direct impact on stakeholders/citizens who exercise their right to inquire about or voice some type of opinion or concern. The result of the inability or lengthy delay to receive responses via returned call or email affect the perception of public trust in government.
