Commission District(s): District 6

Confirm the Appointment of Christina Rios to the Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs Citizens Advisory Board

Body

Information Contact: Commissioner Edward C. “Ted” Terry

Phone Number: 404-371-4909

PURPOSE:

The confirm the Appointment of Christina Rios as the District 6 representative on the Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs Citizens Advisory Board

NEED/IMPACT:

Christina Rios will be replacing Commissioner Terry’s current Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs Citizens Advisory Board Appointment, Richard Alvarez, who has served on the Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs Citizens Advisory Board for over a decade and has been invaluable.

Mr. Alvarez’s other commitments conflict so he has given notice to resign. Christina Rios brings a plethora of energy and “new” eyes and will be an asset to our DeKalb County Recreations, Parks, & Cultural Affairs Department. Ms. Rios is the group leader for the Friends of Needham Park and has previously served as a committee member for our Park Pride Visioning Process. Commissioner Terry is fortunate that she has indicated her intent to serve in this capacity.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No Fiscal Impact
