PURPOSE:
To adopt an urging resolution Of The Board of Commissioners Of DeKalb County, Georgia Requesting The Installation Of Solar Panels On DeKalb County Owned Facilities and Land
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners recognizes the importance of renewable energy sources in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing the threat of climate change. The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners seeks to further reduce its carbon footprint and create a stream of revenue through the installation of solar panels on county-owned facilities and land. As part of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Green Communities Program, DeKalb County has earned Silver Certification and seeks to move towards gold status.

Recommended Action
To approve the urging resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
