PURPOSE:

To consider accepting $105,974.00 for the DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and appropriating the amount to a new Grant Fund.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council has awarded $105,974.00 to the DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court. Funding will be used toward annual conference, psychiatric & nursing services, counseling services, peer support, medication, drug testing & monitoring supplies for program participants. In addition to salary & benefits for the Program Coordinator. The grant period is from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.  The required cash match ($14,451.00) will be met through the Superior Court Operating budget.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for all services provided by Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Grant in the amount of $105,974.00. Funding must be spent by June 30, 2024, end of State FY 2024

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents. To accept $105,974.00 for DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and appropriate the amount to a new Grant Fund.
