PURPOSE:
To approve the appropriation of $75,000 from the America Rescue Plan grant funds assigned to the account
reserved for District 7 to DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs for development of the DeKalb County E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm youth and community programming and all eligible uses to mitigate the negative impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs is managing the development and buildout of the E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm. The Youth Farm will engage youth and the community in urban agriculture programming, farming, and activities that will focus on improving health, nutrition, wellness, physical and mental health, agricultural education, and ending food insecurities in DeKalb County. Programming is needed to mitigate the negative impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To appropriate an amount not to exceed $75,000 from POETA Account #105744.63258.521209.01.07.602479 from the American Rescue Plan grant funds reserved for District 7 to DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs for development of the DeKalb County E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm youth and community programming and all eligible uses to mitigate the negative impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
