PURPOSE:
Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act where “The chief executive shall nominate a person to the commission,” CEO Thurmond is nominating Ms. Mollie Bogle for appointment to the Historic Preservation Commission. She will be replacing Jon Hart with the term being effective upon confirmation and expiring June 30, 2026.
NEED/IMPACT:
Ms. Bogle is a lifelong resident of the east metro Atlanta area, with familial roots that go back generations in the very same area, she cares deeply about honoring and nurturing DeKalb County’s history. Her personal commitment, historic preservation education, and decade-long career in land use planning will provide the passion and knowledge necessary to make balanced and informed decisions. She looks forward to supporting the fantastic work being done by the Historic Preservation Commission and using the County’s rich built environment to continue creating a unique sense of place within the region that embodies the communities’ singular stories.
