PURPOSE:
To consider accepting and appropriating $500,000.00 of Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) funds for construction of the replacement Cedar Grove Road bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents for completion of this project.
NEED/IMPACT:
On June 27, 2023, the Board of Commissioners approved awarding a contract to C.W. Matthews Contracting Company, Inc. for building a replacement Cedar Grove Road bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad. GDOT has offered to provide $500,000.00 of funding toward the total replacement cost of $12,165,731.00.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item will reduce the SPLOST funding needed for the bridge replacement by $500,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
