PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC on May 24, 2022, for an amount not to exceed $21,185,943.45. During construction, more rocks were found beneath the cell surface than initially anticipated. After the rocks were excavated, it was determined that more protective cover sand and dirt is needed to fill the empty and unlevelled surface. This is the final part of the landfill liner system and are the requirements of the GA State Environmental Protection Division for constructing a landfill cell. This request seeks to increase contract funds for the purchase and replacement of 22,160 cubic yards of protective cover sand, rock excavation, as well as 40,000 cubic yards of fill dirt for the new cell.
