PURPOSE:
Consists of hardware and software support services. This request will assist in minimizing significant downtime in the event of a cyber security attack or other disaster that may impact the Microsoft Azure environment within the County.
Disasters are commonly associated with events such as weather and physical facilities; however, the primary threats are from cyber security events, which is more devastating. Microsoft manages the technical infrastructure and because the County’s environment is located within Microsoft owned data centers, only Microsoft provides these services.

Recommend approval of the Sole Source with:
Microsoft Corporation, 1 Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052
Amount Not To Exceed: $323,545.00
and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the contract and all associated documents.
