PURPOSE:
To obtain Board of Commissioners approval of the Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grant Year 3 2023-2024 in the amount of $150,000 to be used by the Recreation Division of the Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department for the after-school programs throughout DeKalb County.
NEED/IMPACT:
Georgia Department of Education provided funding to the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) to
establish the Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grant Program. RPCA will use the funds to leverage out-of-school time and whole child supports to address the learning loss in the County. The grant term is 8/18/2023 - 6/30/2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
RPCA will receive grant funds NTE $150,000
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grant Year 3 2023-2024 in the amount of $150,000; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to program completion.
