PURPOSE:

Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act where “The Chief Executive shall nominate a person,” CEO Thurmond is nominating Dr. Jada Bussey-Jones, MD for appointment to the DeKalb County Board of Health (Seat 3). This is a (6) year term that will begin upon approval and expire on December 31, 2029. 

NEED/IMPACT:

Dr. Jada Bussey-Jones will serve the DeKalb County Board of Health admirably and as stipulated in O.C.G.A. Sec. 31-3-2, would fulfill the requirement of the governing authority of the county “to appoint a physician who practices medicine in the County.
