PURPOSE:
To consider approval of the DeKalb Peachtree Airport (PDK) 2020-2040 Draft Airport Master Plan Update.

To approve the execution of the attached resolution.

NEED/IMPACT:
The primary purpose of the Draft Airport Master Plan Update is to provide detailed plans for the continued development of the airport to meet the needs of DeKalb County, the flying public, tenants, and surrounding community. All portions of this document are based upon the guidelines set forth in the Federal Aviation Administration Circulars (AC) 150/5070-6B, Airport Master Plans and AC150/5300 Airport Design.

The focus is on a twenty-year strategic plan that considers changes needed to aviation facilities, ground access and transportation, environmental measures, and non-aeronautical development to assure that the airport is safe, efficient, and capable of handling forecasted future growth. The recommendations in the Draft Airport Master Plan Update support the mission and vision of PDK to become the southeast's finest general aviation airport by providing operation of a fiscally responsible, business-oriented airport while preserving the quality of life in the community.

The Draft Master Plan has gone through a 24-month process which included five committee meetings with three different committees and three open house events that were available for all Citizens.

The Draft Master Plan was briefed to the Airport Advisory Board (AAB) on February 14, 2022, and a unanimous motion (6-0) to recommend approval passed.
