PURPOSE:
To approve the appropriation of $50,000 from the District 7 Reserve For Appropriation to Refcode for workforce training
NEED/IMPACT:
The impact of COVID-19 on constituents, including refugees and immigrants, in DeKalb County was
immeasurable. Many constituents lost employment as workplaces closed. The impact of post COVID-19 is still
experienced as many constituents are seeking employment and in need of additional skills and workforce
training to secure employment and provide for their families. The training will teach skills in IT that will
provide a pipeline to employment in the technology field.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this allocation of $50,000 is from the District 7 Reserve For Appropriation
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
