PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC September 27, 2022 for an amount not to exceed $19,836,642.41. Much of the piping where the project takes place have reached their shelf life and some have already begun to break down. The watermain will be installed mostly through residential area. The current 30-inch watermain along with several of the 6-inch distribution mains will be substituted and filled with non-shrink grout. All landscaping and pavement distressed during the project will be replaced but not altered.

This request seeks to increase the contract term through December 31, 2024. Approval of this request will allow the contractor adequate time to complete the construction work in the summer of 2024 when the school system is closed for summer vacation. This project will restore proper water service to our residential customers and limit maintenance issues or service interruptions.

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Recommend approval of Change Order No. 1 with:

Garney Companies, Inc., 5895 Shiloh Road, Suite 114, Alpharetta, GA 30005

and authorize the Chief Executive Officers to execute the change order and all associated documents.
