Adoption of the 2018 International Maintenance Code

PURPOSE:
To adopt the 2018 International Property Maintenance Code with state and local amendments.
NEED/IMPACT:
Adoption of this ordinance will protect the health, safety and welfare of the County’s citizens. On December 19, 2023, The Board of Commissioners approved the provisional adoption of the International Property Maintenance Code and directed staff to take all necessary steps to comply with state law to adopt. The Department of Community affairs approved the local amendments after review, so the ordinance may be adopted by the Governing Authority.
Attachment A to this item is the International Property Maintenance Code ordinance. It is relatively short as it adopts by reference the state-approved International Property Maintenance Code with various changes.
Attachment B is a copy of the state-approved International Property Maintenance Code.
Attachment C is a copy of the Department of Community Affairs Approval Letter
