PURPOSE:
Allocate $30,000 of 2023 Youth Violence Prevention discretionary general funds for the 2024 session of the R.I.S.E UP Leadership Program for DeKalb County District 4 middle and high school male students
NEED/IMPACT:
The R.I.S.E Up Leadership Male Mentoring Program is designed to serve middle and high school male students of color who are academically at-risk, as indicated by low school performance, behavioral problems, and absentee rates. This culturally enriched leadership and literacy program will educate, empower, and equip
these students to develop coping and resilient skills.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Transfer $30,000 from 2023 Youth Violence Prevention Discretionary general funds for the 2024 session to DeKalb Human Services R.I.S.E. UP Male Mentoring Program account for 2024 session. Project # 105538 and Cost Center #67510.
