PURPOSE:
To consider authorizing the addition of three (3) vehicles, in an amount not to exceed $135,000.00 to the DeKalb County fleet utilizing Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 funding allocated for VRE operations. To authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb VRE requests approval to purchase three (3) vehicles to be used by staff to conduct county business.
By acquiring these vehicles, we will improve efficiency of day-to-day operations, and enhance productivity as vehicles allow for greater flexibility in employees transporting equipment and tools to polling locations. Additionally, the purchase of these vehicles will ensure safety of employees while traveling for work-related purposes and provide an extra level of peace of mind for both employees and the department.
To that end, the justification for this investment is rooted in strategy that aligns with our long-term goals and will positively impact our operations. This will ultimately enhance the County’s brand and ensure that DeKalb VRE continues to be Best in Class, leading the state and nation in delivering fair, inclusive, transparent, and accurate elections.
FISCAL IMPACT:
VRE is requesting an additional $135,000.00 for FY 2024.
