PURPOSE:
Allocate $150,000.00 of District 4 ARPA funds to Trust for Public Land Community Schoolyards for the development of community schoolyards, also known as green schoolyards, to serve as nature hubs for teachers, students and communities with outdoor play, recreation, learning features.
NEED/IMPACT:
Redesigning schoolyards for after hours and on weekends provides access to greenspace and outdoor activities ultimately having a transformational whole health impact on children, adults and families Schoolyards can include outdoor classrooms, gardens, stormwater capture, traditional playground equipment, nature play areas, trails, trees, water features, and more.
