PURPOSE:
To appropriate District 7 reserves in the amount of $20,000 to the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center for arts programming for DeKalb County Veterans, residents, and families experiencing homelessness.
NEED/IMPACT:
The $20,000 appropriation will be used to will positively impact the well-being of DeKalb County families experiencing homelessness and Veterans seeking stability. The three programs of focus-art workshops for families, classes for Veterans, and concert experiences for those facing homelessness-address specific needs for underserved groups in DeKalb County.
Funding will allow Callanwolde to extend its impact to an even greater number of DeKalb County Veterans, individuals, and families experiencing homelessness, and will facilitate their participation in high-quality and transformative art classes and arts experiences. DeKalb County's support for Callanwolde's community engagement programs is an investment in the health and well-being of some of the most vulnerable groups. With this support, Callanwolde can continue to be a catalyst for positive change in the lives of those facing homelessness in DeKalb County and will assist in building a resilient, connected, and culturally enriched community.
