PURPOSE:

Approval to accept the FY24 VOCA grant in the amount of $122,528, awarded to the Solicitor General’s Office for the purpose of continued funding for the Victim-Witness Assistance Program (VWAP). Awarded funds support the salary and fringe benefits of two (2) full-time Victim-Witness Advocates.
Grant award cycle is from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The grant supports our ongoing efforts of providing victim-centered supportive services and resources.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The award provides the Solicitor General’s Office with much needed supplemental funding to use for victim-centered services. The match requirement has been waived for this award period. No additional county funds will be requested for this award.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve and accept the above grant in the amount of $122,528, and to authorize the DeKalb County Solicitor General to execute all necessary documents.
