PURPOSE:

To approve the appropriation of $100,000 from the America Rescue Plan grant funds assigned to the account reserved for District 7 to the International Rescue Committee for small business training to DeKalb County residents, targeting the immigrant and refugee communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The $100,000 appropriation will be used to small business training to DeKalb County residents, targeting the immigrant and refugee communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding is needed to support small business economic recovery and will help small business owners from DeKalb County’s diverse communities rebuild resilient, thriving small businesses. The training will provide business counseling, training, technical assistance, and resources.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

To appropriate an amount not to exceed $100,000 from POETA Account # 105744.63258.521209.01.07.602479 to the International Rescue Committee for small business training to mitigate the public health emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
