PURPOSE:
The Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department seeks the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the master plan for NH Scott Park.
NEED/IMPACT:
The NH Scott Park master plan project consists of a visioning plan for the park in collaboration with The Friends on NH Scott Park Group, Park Pride, and the greater community. The plan includes a multi-use field, restrooms, picnic shelters, paved trails, playground, fitness equipment, dog park and a community garden. The original plan also contained of a natatorium with a competition-size pool that may be incorporated into future phases. The current pool upgrades at the park are part of RPCA SPLOST projects.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact for approval of the plan; estimated project budget for current plan: $4.7M.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the NH Scott master plan and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
