PURPOSE:
Currently the County has a contract with Denali Water Solutions. This vendor dewaters the County's sludge utilizing a belt filter press unit and trucking services to haul the waste solids to a landfill at a premium cost. Awarded by the BOC on July 8, 2014 for an amount not to exceed $1,978,500.00. On November 14, 2017, the BOC approved Change Order No. 1 for an increase in contract term through December 31, 2018 and funding in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00. On October 23, 2018, the BOC approved Change Order No. 2 for an increase in contract term through December 31, 2021 and funding in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00.

DWM, completed an extensive study to determine and recommend the best process and system to satisfy the current needs of the Pole Bridge AWTP. The study determined that transitioning from a sludge dewatering belt filter press to a sludge dewatering screw press was more beneficial to the County.
