CO - Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. 1272696 Reindeer Drive Water Main Replacement (Multiyear Contract): for use by the Department of Watershed Management (DWM). Consists of the removal of existing galvanize pipe and asbestos cement water mains; abandonment of a steel main; construction and installation of ductile iron pipe (DIP) watermains; and removal and replacement of fire hydrants. This request is to increase the scope of work, funding, and the contract term through June 30, 2024, to allow for completion of additional work. Awarded to GS Construction, Inc. PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC November 9, 2021, for an amount not to exceed $10,682,365.00. This contract consists of removal of existing 2-inch to 6-inch galvanized pipe and asbestos cement watermains; construction and installation of approximately 18,300 linear feet of new 8-inch DIP watermains and approximately 3,600 linear feet of new 16-inch DIP watermains; and removal and replacement of all fire hydrants, valves, service lines and appurtenances. Residential properties have been experiencing failures and service interruptions due to pipelines not performing at the minimum required service levels. The watermain replacements needed under the Shepherds Lane and Woodland Hills Drive Water Main Replacement project (Reindeer Phase II) includes, but is not limited to, replacement of 6-inch asbestos cement pipe with the installation of 18,100 liner feet of 8-inch DIP and 13,300 linear feet of 12-inch DIP.
