PURPOSE:

To consider approving the FY22 Homeland Security Grant Program/GEMA funding; and
To consider accepting $6,000.00 from the Georgia Office of Homeland Security/GEMA and appropriating $6,000 to the grant fund for spending in compliance with grantor’s requirements; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents. 

 

NEED/IMPACT:

This grant agreement governs the use of the funds provided by the State of Georgia to assist the DeKalb County Police Department to build and enhance capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies in accordance with the goals and objectives of the State Strategic Plan. This grant will be dedicated to the Special Services Division for the purchase of dog food and veterinary care. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This grant does not require a match contribution. There are no positions created by this funding. The effective date is upon signature - September 30, 2024.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the FY22 Homeland Security Grant Program/GEMA funding; and To accept $6,000.00 from the Georgia Office of Homeland Security/GEMA and appropriate $6,000.00 to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor’s requirements; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents.
