PURPOSE:
To consider acceptance of a grant in the amount of $2,000,000.00 from the CTCL to be appropriated and administered by the Finance Department Capital & Grants Division, to approve the County's membership in the Alliance, and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents. CTCL is dedicated to educating the public about government and democracy in the United States and to working with government agencies to develop the skills, strategies, and tools to engage their citizens. The grant funds must be used exclusively for the public purpose of planning and operationalizing safe and secure election administration infrastructure in DeKalb County. The Alliance is a project of the CTCL and is a nonpartisan collaborative that is bringing together election officials, designers, technologists, and other experts to help local election departments improve operations, develop a set of shared standards and values, and obtain access to best-in-class resources to run successful elections.

NEED/IMPACT:
The grants funds will be used by the County's Department of Voter Registration and Elections to cover certain expenses associated with planning and operationalizing safe and secure election administration infrastructure in DeKalb County.
