PURPOSE:

To consider the attached Resolution, Order and Declaration of Taking for acquisition of certain right of way in Parcel 53 (Owners: Patrick Whelchel a/k/a Patrick Jones Whelchel and Lisa Whelchel a/k/a Lisa Kaminski Whelchel) needed for the “Upgrade Traffic Signals at 40 locations in DeKalb County,” Georgia Department of Transportation PI No. 0002669 (the ‘Project”); and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Office to execute all necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The condemnation wills enable the County and GDOT to include the subject property in the Project to upgrade traffic signal at Clairemont Ave and Michigan Ave as part of a larger traffic signal upgrade project. The required property interests are valued at $1,020.00 and a certified letter has been sent to the property owner.

 

The County Attorney has reviewed the attached documents and approves to form.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The fiscal impact to Dekalb County is $1,020.00.  The funding source is a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) reimbursment from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
